Allied Fence wants to make your installation run as smoothly and quickly as possible. As a homeowner in suncity, there are several things to consider before installation can take place. Below we have listed the precautionary steps that come before your fence is installed:
Precautionary Steps
- Find all property pins. finding all property pins will not only make sure the fence is on your property, but your surrounding neighbors will know as well. in suncity, the pins are usually visable and can also be located by using the measurements off of your plot plan. property pins are usally a rebar stake that sometimes has an orange or red plastic tape. there have been cases where the property pins could have been removed by landscaping or may have never been put in place. in this case, it will require a surveyor to come out.
- Sprinkler heads need to be located. Over the years, allied fence has ran string lines at our customer’s property pins and found sprinkler heads on the neighbor’s property. sprinkler heads and lines have also been placed correctly, but right on the fence line. this creates a problem when installing fence posts.
- All of our estimators carry brochures describing the product we are installing at your residence. Make sure that the height desired is exactly what you visualized in your yard. Visit our products page for more information on the products we use.
From The Moment You Sign Our Proposal
- You will need to have a copy of your plot plan with the desired location of fence and gates. using a black pen, please draw inside your property lines, (1) to (2) inches in, showing where the fence is to be installed.
- You will need a committee approval form filled out, along with a check for $30.00, to turn into committee for approval. this form must be signed (must be the original form). this form can be obtained at www.sctxca.org
- A copy of our proposal is to be turned into the committee’s office, showing the total amount paid, type of fence to be installed, along with the details of fence materials to be installed. our estimator will have all this filled out on your proposal from us.
- All suncity paperwork must be turned in for approval by tuesday before 12pm. the committee will look over paperwork and should approve by the friday of the same week. the committee is very strict on paper work and all should be filled out with detail.
- The city of georgetown requires a permit for a new fence. they will need a copy of your approved suncity form (you’ll get this in mail or by picking up from suncity committee office). the city of georgetown will also need a copy of your plot plan (with a sketched line indicating where the fence and gates are to be installed) for apporval. the city of georgetown will usually have your permit ready for pickup in (2) to (3) business days. you can get these forms and any other information you’ll need to know about the your city of georgetown permit at www.georgetown.org/permits.overview.php .
